Game Day 2008

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Today was a great opportunity to shoot some high speed photography at the golf course. The details that are picked up in the golfer’s swing at twenty frames a second are fantastic.

I was pleasantly surprised that my best pictures turned out to be all the young guys. I was really expecting the old pros to show them up, out on the links.

I’ve posted only a few of the many photos of our family golf team in their excellent form. Believe me there were also plenty of not so proficiently preformed shoots as well. Specifically the close up I got of uncle Wayne’s golf ball as it sourced across my head.  I will say, if it had hit me it would have been my own fault for sticking my nose out to far.

Best Swing of the Day. Thanks Spence

He Wasn’t Always Evil

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

While I was at the comic book shop this week, I bought a can filled with the T-Virus and a refreshing can of Slurm to wash it down with. Slurm tastes a lot like Red Bull and worm poop.

I think the evil monkey may be infected by the virus. And if your wondering, you can tell he’s evil because he wears a Fez.

The New Camera

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I’m finally holding it in my hands. I’ve been wanting this camera for 3 months now and here it is.

Fujifilm FinePix S100FS

I took my Fuji out to an old mill in the Meech Lake area for a first photo shoot. It was a good start but I’ll need to read the instructions to figure out what this thing can really actually do.

I also got all the little extras to go along with it. Most importantly the digital picture frame. I can show off my 11 Megapixel photos to the world on a 600 by 400 screen.

Red Bull Flugtag Ottawa 2008

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Yesterday was Red Bulls Flugtag event at the Museum of Civilization. Flugtag is German  for … well that doesn’t matter. The point is they make a bunch of floats and put on some silly costumes to show them off in. And since that stuff all gets old pretty quickly, they liven’ it up by throwing them off a cliff into the Rideau River.

Just watch the videos, they’re pretty self explanatory.

But before we do that;
“Mom, can I borrow your new video camera? Thanks”

Party of the Year!!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Happy First Birthday to my Nephew Alexander.

Alex had an amazing fun time and a sugar high that he probably still hasn’t gotten over. He got plenty of great presents, I’m happy to say that my train was totally the best gift.

I hope I’m invited to next years party.

Is this my cake? Hey wait … This doesn’t taste like cake.

That might be my cake? But It looks like a Choo Choo Train.
